oh, it-it does but learning from.. from a teacher is just as good…
*Tilting her head* Depends on the teacher. I used to have one in high school who thought art was supposed to be a style with no room for creativity. *She tries to imitate his deep voice* ‘Young lady, what are you painting? You can’t just splash colors on a canvas and call it art. Paint the fruit bowl the way it looks and use shadows properly. What? You can’t paint? Then why are you taking this class?
*Lets her voice go back to normal and sighs* He was such a jerk.
*he frowns* he does sound like a jerk… a-art is about expression, using your abilities to express how you feel and what you love and hate. d-do you think an art teacher told salvador dali to pull his stuff together? o-or told vincent van gough to stop working with his swirls and lines? or michelangelo, o-or any of the famous artists who made a name for themselves by pushing boundaries? no! *his voice is becoming more serious, more steady, talking about something he loves* i was taught how to use the right tools, the shading, but never what to do with my work. my teacher allowed me to be free with what it wanted to do and for that i’m grateful to her forever and it was her who suggested i move here in the first place for my art, for my talents…!
