“Okay then,” Jack said as he set down some colored pencils on the bed stand besides Katelynn. “I’ll leave these here for you, to help you work with colors. Just keep working on the shading like I showed you,” he gestures to the sketches they’ve done this morning together. They’re basic shapes, squares, triangles, circles, all of them colored and shaded by the pencils. “Just r-remember where the light source is and—”
He stopped when he saw how anxious she suddenly looked.
“…what is it?” he asked.
She folded her arms in her lap, looking towards the door. “Someone is coming to visit me,” she replied. “Someone I was mean to…”
She didn’t dare tell him he was an old crush. How would he react to that?
“..do you want me to stay here?” he asked quietly.
