“Y-you went to… web-websites? Really?” he asked quietly. But really, that was no better than what he did. He read books on the damn thing. And his romance movies. He knew it was good to be open, and honest, and not keep things hidden. She knew how shy he was, how he thought little of himself from time to time. There wasn’t anything else he could hide from her, even if he wanted to.
And he didn’t want to.
“Hm. D-don’t worry, Katelynn. I’ve got no secrets. M-my parents taught me it isn’t n-nice to keep things from people you care about and..” he took her hand into his. “And I care about you a lot…”
She smiled, leaning forward bravely so that their lips were really close, her eyes looking at them. “I care about you a lot too..I just want to make you happy, that’s it. Love isn’t selfish and that’s all I’ve been lately. But from now on I’m going to try harder,” she sighed near his lips, her eyes becoming half lidded, “to make you as happy as I can. To always make you smile.”
Her heart hammered in her chest, even though they kissed plenty of times already, each one felt new to her. His lips were always so soft.
His face was purple like a grape when she leaned in like that, looking at him like that and how he felt her lips and breath brushing against his partly open mouth. When had she become this bold? Was it him doing this? No, surely not. He couldn’t inspire this kind of a change in her surely.
But he still smiled for her; she said she liked seeing it after all, so why would he deny her something so simple to do?
“I.. I just love you so much.” was all he could say, as his hands found hers, before their lips found one another and he kissed her softly.
