New and Startling Information

will-never-be-a-swan:

wrapped-in-shadows:

His green eyes blinked slowly as he listened to her. They, like her own, were heavy with want, with a desire that he hadn’t felt stir so fast within him so quickly over any body before. He had a better idea, as to why he felt this way; why he felt hot, and wanted so much… more. But he was also a gentleman, and a gentleman never voices those kinds of emotions to a woman. Especially the woman they adored, and so early on into a relationship.

He smiled faintly at her request, before he pulled her to him again, mindful of her injuries and the IV she still wore, and shut his eyes.

“…only one thing would make me leave you, Katelynn…” he whispered. “And that won’t happen for a very, very, very long time…” if he could help it. Death was something he knew much of, having witnessed his grandmother pass away in her bed at their family home. How he’d held her hand in his as her last breath lost her and she moved on to ‘beyond’, whatever awaited them all. His parents hoped for an equally calm, peaceful passing.

So did Jack.

He didn’t think about it too much but now, honestly, only death would rip him from her. Nothing else would do it. “I don’t care what else gets between us.” he said quietly. “Distance, people, bad guys, good guys I don’t… I don’t care about all of that. It won’t stop how I feel about you or, or that I don’t want to loose you either…” he pressed a kiss to her temple, shutting his eyes. “Nothing will stop what I feel..”

She smiled softly, resting against him, feeling her heart swell with love. She closed her eyes happily, humming softly.

He truly was her prince.

The butterflies in her stomach soared for him as she replied softly, “Neither will mine…We’ll face it all together and come out stronger…you’ll see..”

He nodded his head as he simply held her, allowing his heart to finally ease back down to a pace in which it didn’t feel like a bongo drum. Or a humming birds wings. Jack sighed softly, pressing another kiss to her temple, and another. Because he could.

“We’ll both be stronger. For ourselves and each other. Yes siree bob.” he smiled faintly before settling himself against her with the ambition of not moving from this spot until some force dare try to remove himself from her.

And it’d have to be something pretty big.
