He took her hand carefully, giving her a ‘are you sure?’ look, before slowly putting the phone to his ear. “Y-yeah Bonnie. She’d love to, but she’s still recovering so you can’t stay long… yes… all right. We’re at the Metro City Mercy Hospital. Yes, you know… all right. We’ll see you in a few…! Bye…” he hung up, staring at the phone. “They just got into town so it might take them half an hour to get here… gives.. um. Some time to prepare?” he asked weakly.
She tried to smile, but it came out a bit nervous, her free hand going up to try to tame her braided hair. “I-I guess it gives me time to comb my hair or something..so I don’t look like this..I mean..I’m meeting your parent’s..w-wow..this is a big step..”
She tries to remember where her comb is as she undoes the braid to let her hair go free.
Jack helped, by opening the side draw on the bedside cabinet next to her and pulled out her big brush he had brought from her apartment. “Here, let. Let me help you.” he insists and is soon sitting on the side of the bed, running the brush down her hair gently.
“You shouldn’t be scared, my… my parents are really laid back people. If you have any questions about them you can ask me now..?”
