“Well. Once I broke my wrist from falling out of a tree…?” he asks quietly, not wanting to divulge just how badly the physical abuse he’d received at the hands of other people in his life had been.
She stares at him a long moment, searching his eyes, trying to get more information the best way she was starting to learn how. She frowned a bit. “Once…so the other times…” She trailed off, remembering bits and pieces of what he had told her, feeling a bit angry that anyone would treat someone else differently just because of how they looked like on the outside.
It was a pain she knew all too well but she hadn’t been hit over it.
“I rather not say, Katelynn.” Jack said gently as he turned on the small device. It made a small whirring noise and he began to gently push it against the cast. Softened by the water and vinegar, it begins to work apart but only where he pushes the blade. He’s careful, very careful. He doesn’t want to nick her but thankfully like any cast it has a decent amount of width between the skin and the cast.
