Night Over

will-never-be-a-swan:

wrapped-in-shadows:

Jack began moving into the bedroom when she stirred, and approached the bed, but stopped before getting too close. He smiled faintly, reaching down and picking up the book from where it fell.

“I hate bad dreams too.” he admitted quietly.

He gasped, not expecting anyone in her room and looking at the source of the voice, her shirt falling off her shoulder. “Oh Jack, it’s just you..” She sighs, leaning back against the headboard. “Bad dreams? Yeah…but luckily that’s all they are, right? We wake up and they’re over.”

Gives him a smile, her chest rising and falling in the faint glow of the lamp.

Jack smiles at her before setting the book in the nightstand by her bed. “Yeah… that’s the one good thing about them.” he said before standing there awkwardly again. Oh, right. He came here for something.

“Um. Katelynn I was just… wondering if. If I could… s… sleep here, with you, tonight?” he asks quietly. “I mean I, I understand,” his yes quickly go to her exposed collar bone before back to her face, his own turning slightly purple. “i-if you don’t want to if you had a busy day but I would just… I thought since… since I couldn’t new years day I.. I could n-now…”
