“He claims he is because you two look so similar,” she replied, standing up yet still not looking at him. “I mean the skin tone is obvious but the just…his face shape…it looks so much like yours…I can see similarities..he said you were and who was I to doubt him? He’s been looking for you for a long time. He’s happy to know you were taken care of.”
She wasn’t sure if it was the hormones of her pregnancy but anger was starting to spark inside of her. It mixed with the hurt, fueling her.
“But Jack..didn’t you trust me enough to let me know he had come looking for you?”
He can’t help but notice she’s not looking at him, now, more so than before. Jack stands there for a moment, feeling suddenly very small. Very. Very. Small. It’s a feeling he didn’t think he’d ever feel around her. He takes a step away, expression turning to one of.. many feelings. But his eyes read fear.
