“You’re warmer.” Jack sighed softly, as his chin rested against her collar bone as he let his eyes slip shut. He felt so content, so warm, so loved and needed here… if this is what awaited him every time he came into her bed, he might do it more often than he thought he would. Not the love making, while nice, he knew it couldn’t be all they thought about. “Mmmm…”
“It almost feels like we live together, doesn’t it?” she asked softly, eyes shut and feeling the warmth of this love lull her. She tried to stay awake, willed herself to stay awake. She was fighting and slightly winning, mostly because she was curious over his response.
Jack was losing his war with himself. He was so tired. He didn’t have to fight his body to get her to a hospital bed, or to crawl into a cot. He was already in bed. Soemwhere safe and warm with the woman he loved. He heard her words, and smiled faintly, as he settled against her, already half asleep. “…it’s like a dream.. come true…”
