“I want to show you were I grew up, after my parents adopted me.” he says quietly. “The house where we lived, and the fields around it. We weren’t farmers, but we owned a bit of land. We still own it now, really… but, my parents travel.”
Smiling gently, Katelynn leaned into his shoulder a bit, a bit of happiness bubbling up inside of her. “I would love to see where you grew up…Are we going right now or did you want to go later..?”
“We’d have to pack. It’s a bit of a ways out of Metro City but we could spend the night. It’s still got all the facilities working so… um. If you want?” he asked, looking at her.
She leaned back to nod eagerly at him, a huge smile on his face. “It sounds like fun! Let’s go then!” She began to walk back towards their apartment complex, skipping a bit, excited about the trip.
He smiles faintly and follows her. Jack slips his hand into hers as she half walks, half skips. “You’ll like it, I hope… given the time of year there won’t be any flowers, which will be good because of your allergies…”
