“Oh, o.. okay we can go, we can. Of course…! H-here, here.” Jack unbound his scarf and wrapped it around her neck gently, before taking the bags from her. “Come on, walk close to me? I’m not much but I’ll keep you warm…” he offered, hoping she could make the walk back to their house.
His tenderness touched her heart, her nose slightly red as she snuggled into his side. “But you’ll be cold..” she argued gently, suddenly feeling so silly about earlier. Her hand shook, the feelings overflowing as her eyes shined with possible tears.
