Jack followed her, smiling faintly. They had bought a lot of things the day before, she must have forgotten they had eggs. “I think pancakes would be a wonderful idea…!” he said, “We have so much of little things, I think we can whip some up… o-or maybe waffles, toast, eggs, bacon… there’s enough to pick from!” he said, tying the strap around his own dressing gown which was tartan and hung baggy on him since his father was so much bigger than him in height and width.
He opened the fridge and got out the eggs, setting them down, before sighing heavily. “Someone’s been busy.”
A few of the drawers in the kitchen were open, as were the cupboard doors. “Cheeky…” he mumbled as he began to shut them.
Katelynn hadn’t even noticed, but looked around the room. “Oh wow..he was being playful?” she asked, as she got out a bowl to get the pancake mix ready. She went about looking for flour, closing the drawer on the way before pouring it into the bowl. Did she even know what ingredients were needed for pancakes?
“Um..so flour..eggs..sugar..salt?” she mentally did a check list, searching around. “Oh man how many eggs do you need..?” she mumbled to herself, unsure.
“Self-raising flour, pinch of salt, milk, eggs, butter…” Jack listed the ingredients as he touched on them, and they began to mix them together in a bowl. Just how much they’d make is hard to tell, but how many would end up burned, or on the floor, it’s probably a good idea to make a big batch. “A-and now we mix…”
He holds the bowl for her as Katelynn mixes the thickening mixture.
