He froze. Jack looked around, half expecting to see him. He didn’t. Jack looked back at her, worry now on his face. “O-oh, oh Katelynn I. I’m sorry I should have been h-here with you…!” he said, pulling her against him tightly, shutting his eyes. “I-it’s okay, he won’t hurt you….”
“You were here though,” she commented, tilting her head to look up at him and kissing his chin. “You were by my side, protecting me even though you were asleep. I didn’t really feel so scared since you were there. I was more scared for you.”
“W-wait you saw him last night? Oh… oh Katelynn you should… you should have woken me…!” that’s what brave boyfriends do, right? What would he have done though, cower with her?
