Taking a Trip

wrapped-in-shadows:

He knew when it was time to play, and time to rest. Jack smiled softly at her, wrapping his arms back around her and he nuzzled his cheek against hers, and sighed heavily; the post-love making exhaustion hitting him with all subtlety of a hammer.

“Better…” he whispered, liking the feeling of her skin flush against his, nothing between them at all. “I love you…” Jack uttered. “‘love you, love you…” he mumbled, already lulling to sleep.

“Love you too…” she whispered, her mind having already begun slipping into dreamland, dreams of blue princes with glass slippers entering her mind, the quiet sounds of the outside combined with his heartbeat like a lullaby.

It was well past midnight when something caused Katelynn to slowly stir from her sleep. Besides her, Jack still lay, arms around her sleeping soundly. He was serene, at calm, sleeping peacefully. She turned her head slightly and saw a shape in the door way.

It was the shape of a man, but not a solid man.

She could see clearly through him.

No definite features were obvious besides the hat, the coat, and boots. The man stood in the door way either looking in on them, or away… either was impossible to tell.

Katelynn suddenly felt a rush of cold as if a fan had been placed in front of her and she had to blink. When they opened, though, the see through shape was gone.
