Taking a Trip

He stared back at her, watching how she looked at him in ways nobody had ever done before. It made his heart race within his chest, turning his cheeks, nose, and tips of his ears turn brilliantly violet when she did. Katelynn had such a… a way with her eyes. They could do so much to him, undo him, give him strength, courage, yet could tear him down when she looked at him with sadness.

Jack watched her sit on her knees and gave an awkward laugh, before he reached to her, his blue hands abandoning his turtle neck on the floor, and he pushed his fingers against her face, and neck as he leaned closer to her.

“I love you.” he whispered, lips barely against hers as he whispered it, “Please don’t ever think I won’t… or that I’d leave you… how could I leave you…?” Jack asked softly as the hand in her hair trailed down her back, before settling on her hip. “Okay, Katelynn…?”

Her eyelids drooped a little, her stomach knotting at his proximity as another shiver ran down her spine. Oh god how she loved him back despite the speed of which their romance had blossomed.

She had been so alone before him, she realized, barely having friends to count on. Then he had stepped into her life, showed him kindness, attention, understanding, protection; anything and everything, that she couldn’t help but fall in love with him. The way in which he had been there for her when she was in the hospital had clinched it. If it weren’t for him she would have spent every day in that bed lonely, without a friend to share it with.

He was her best friend, her lover, and, dared she hoped, her family. She had no one else but him now.

“Jack..” she whispered against his lips, eyes locked on his, loving the acidic tint to them, almost glowing in their depths. “I love you too..I won’t..I won’t leave you either..I don’t want to..you’re all I have in this world and I’m glad for that..yo-…you’re pretty much..my family..”

She was too entranced by him to notice the deeper meaning of that confession, her mind going into a future that wouldn’t happen for a long time. Or probably wouldn’t happen for a long time, in case he changed his mind later.

“You’re all I want.” Jack admitted quietly. “Only you. Nobody else. No…. no woman on the street, not Sally, not anyone…” he went on to explain as he blinked those acidic green eyes of his, taking in the sight of her against the bed like this, sitting on the floor, the blush well and truly set on her cheeks and nose. He leaned up, and kissed her nose softly before he drew back, hands now digging down against the hardwood floors.

“…and I would, if… you want to, I understand if you don’t…” Jack said quietly as he picked up the lingerie, and placed it into her hands gently. He said nothing, speaking with his eyes just like he always did. He told her he loved her every day, that he would always accept her, need her, rely on her, desire her, but now he was asking if she could just do this for him.

To see her dressed up, in something blue and lacy, for him… it made his desire and passion for her spike so high it rocketed through the roof.
