“What?” he asked, looking shocked around his deep blush. He moved to her and knelt in front of her, reached out for her, and placed his hands to her arms gently. “Katelynn i-it’s okay!” he said as bravely as he could. “Don’t apologize…! It, it’s a lovely color and I’m sure it would look wonderful on you, b-but,” he reached down, and touched the material in her hand as his other hand brought her head up since she hadn’t been looking at him.
“But that’s… that’s just because you’re the one wearing it. On.. on any other woman it… it wouldn’t mean anything to me.”
She stared at him a moment, her heart doing somersaults so high it was practically jumping out of her throat. “I-I wasn’t even sure if..I should wear it..I bought it on impulse because the color..and I heard men liked these and I just wanted to look se-sexy for once for you..”
Considering she never had before, or thought she was, she thought it would be a nice little ego boost. Not that she was vain but figured the ego boost would help her confidence a bit more.
“You always look sexy for me.” Jack said quietly, shocked that such a sentence was leaving his lips. “When… when you show up in anything you wear, you’re most beautiful, most sexy woman in the world to me.” he went on to say. “Outside when the wind is in your hair, or, or the snow in it, and any other time, Katelynn…” he says. “I just wish I could… I could look better for you. I’m always in my turtlenecks and my jeans and… I just wan to look good for you but you’re so much braver than me. Look you just shown how much,” he says, gesturing to the lingerie. “by buying this…!”
But he smiles, and pulls her into his arms, hugging her tightly. “You’re beautiful, Katelynn. You will be, to me, a-always, all right?”
