“M-maybe you’ll see one later?” Jack asked as he turned the nearest light on since it was getting dark and they needed to be able to see where they were going. “Or before we leave? I, I’m sure they wouldn’t pass up the chance to have you see them or, or see them in real action as opposed to a door shutting…”
“I kind of hope so,” she replied, forgetting about the sandwich which she had been making, her excitement having wiped it from her memory. She took out her camera to try to look at the pictures but noticed the battery indicator this time as it blinked at her. And seconds later turned off.
“Awww, guess I have to charge my camera..”
She walked over to her bag, moving things around to look for her camera, unknowingly bringing up the piece of lingerie she had stored away, putting it on the side of the floor where it unrolled and revealed itself as she kept searching for her charger.
He’d followed her through, also forgetting the sandwich, but mostly also just wanting to make sure she didn’t run into any ghosts on the way to the bedroom. It would be horrid if she did. Jack leaned on the door frame, hands in his pockets, as he watched her search through the bag for her charger.
It would be cruel if any specter were to show up now, with her camera dead.
He was just about to ask her something when he saw something she set aside slowly roll out on the floor. Curious, he took a step closer but stopped when he saw what it was and his face turned purple. Lingerie? Lingerie. Katleynn had bought lingerie.
Jack stood there, struck dumb for a moment, before speaking. “Katelynn? Um. Your… that… On the floor…” he mumbled, pointing.
