“Don’t eat too fast,” Jack said, hoping he didn’t sound disappointed or anything over the fact she wasn’t going to mouth feed him grapes. That was a bit rude of him to assume she would; Katelynn was a good girl, and he didn’t know what kind of women would feed a man with their mouths. Not sanitary ones, he’s sure.
“Here we should take our time. T-they probably know we’re here already, after being in charge for so long…” he teases, bumping her hip gently as he begins to help make some sandwiches too.
She giggled, finishing off his sandwich, and bringing it up to his mouth, giving him a quick, “Ahhh!” motion like she wanted to feed him. “Well if they already know..I still want to go looking for them.”
She looked upward toward the ceiling, a smile on her lips. “Okay Mr. Ghost, get ready! Katelynn Foster wants to meet you! Bet you can’t scare me!”
Of course he opens his mouth for her and takes a bite of the sandwich she made, before taking it from her and peers up at the ceiling as well. He, personally, hoped they didn’t find any of the ghosts. They still terrified him, ever since that man at the end of his bed like that. Even just footfalls in other rooms were enough to set him on edge.
And then the back door’s screen door ceremoniously closed without reason.
“Wind.” Jack said quickly, a little too quickly, before taking another bite of his sandwich, eyeing the door in question.
