Taking a Trip

Jack blinked in surprise at how, well, surprised she sounded and looked. He shrugged. “Well…. yes. I’ve never had a girlfriend during the holiday before… I thought we could come up here, just enjoy the scenery and each other and… u-unless you have an idea already?” he asked.

Last thing he wanted was to ruin any ideas Katelynn might have in regards to the holiday. What if she had thought about it too?

She shook her head, going back to washing the dishes. “N-Not really..I mean I’ve seen the stores getting ready for it but I’ve never..you know..and well..I didn’t know what one did..I thought it was the usual dinner, dancing and stuff but I guess I didn’t want to be cliche for our first Valentine’s day.”

She wondered if talking about it was ruining any sort of surprise he may have planned. “But I do like the idea of returning here,” she continued, washing the cups this time. “It’ll still snow a bit though since spring comes back in March..I think..”

“Maybe.” Jack whispered. “Normally we have less snow up here by that time… it’s only thick around December and January.” he admitted, before pulling away from her, picking up a tea towel and began to dry the dishes for her. “W-we could have some music and dance here in private… h-have a good meal too. A nice big dinner, a roast maybe? I, I don’t know. It’s still such a long way away…”
