Taking a Trip

Jack had to laugh as he followed her through to the kitchen, chuckling gently, before he gingerly wrapped his arms around her from behind and kissed the back of her head. “I could have done them.” he whispered quietly. It was no bother for him, really, to do domestic things. When he had grown up here he had his chores to do, his weight to pull, and he enjoyed helping out around the house.

She snuggled back against him as she rubbed a sponge against a plate, washing off the crumbs from the plate. “It’s fine..It’s rude of me to just leave the dishes. I usually wash them after I finish eating but I guess I was just sad to leave this place. I’m going to miss it here.”

She ran the plate under the water water which had turned warmer and put it to dry on the counter where a towel lay.

“Well we can always come back any time.” Jack whispered. “M-Maybe for Valentines we could spend a few days here, rather then just a night…?” he asked, since the idea was lovely to him. The weather would be warmer, and if Katelynn kept her medicine with her the hay fever couldn’t get to her too much…
