5 Days is a Long Time to Wait

Speaking of, his hand found her free one, the one not holding the puppy’s leash, and the two returned back to their apartment building to introduce the little girl to her new home. Naturally the puppy was excited as anything, sniffing around at any, and everything in sight.

“Do you like it, little one?” she asked, bending down to unhook her leash and let her roam and explore. She was really going to have to start picking up the photo’s off the floor in case the puppy peed on them. That wouldn’t be a very happy thing for Katelynn.

She watched with a smile while sitting on her hunches as she explored all around, sniffing at everything. Katelynn had a while lot to learn about having a pet; where she would sleep (“In my bed.”) or what food to get (“Will definitely need to go shopping for her soon.”) and how to potty train her. (“Oh man I know she’s going to have a lot of accidents.”)

Jack stood back as the puppy explored, sniffing and snuffling, her small tail wagging madly. He had to smile. “Roxy was like that when I first got her. Sniffing absolutely everywhere, finding all the good places to settle…” Roxy hadn’t been a puppy, though. She was a ‘teenager’. Not nearly a puppy but not an adult either. “You’re going to spoil her rotten aren’t you?” he asked with a smile as he saw the look in Katelynn’s eyes as she watched the puppy bound around.
