He felt hers beating against his chest, her chest rising and falling, her everything. His world. Nothing more could he ask for than what was in his arms now and he knew that to be true.
“We have to start looking into getting a new place. But if, if you don’t want to, if you think we’re going too fast I understand, and… and we can… I don’t. I don’t know…”
“Shh,” she whispered softly, her thumbs rubbing near his eyes to clear the last of the tears away or any that continue to fall, her palms resting on cheeks. “I want to live with you..I do..We don’t have to think about that right now though..That can come later..or tomorrow..whenever you want.”
She leaned forward and pressed a kiss to his chin. “I wanted to talk to you anyway about something..I changed my mind about what I wanted to do, you know..with the whole spying on villains..I talked to Six..the things he said made me think..I don’t want to put you in danger. I don’t want to put myself in danger..not if it means worrying you. I don’t..I’m going to give it up. And I’m sorry I suggested it in the first place..It was a stupid, rash decision on my part..”
“You just want to help…” he said quietly. “There’s nothing… nothing wrong with that,” he added softly. “It was impressive but… but I can see why he would have spoken like that… Six is…” Jack paused, thinking. “…he’s a good man. I mean anyone can see he’s been through a lot…”
Oh if only he knew half of what Katelynn now knew.
“So w-what are we going to do?” he asked quietly.
