Ice and Brains

will-never-be-a-swan:

wrapped-in-shadows:

“Hey!” Jack sticks his head out of the doorway. “Look at this, Katelynn…!” he walks out of the bathroom and holds up two gloves. They looked to be made of silvery material with blue light up edges around the fingers. “Try these on, please?”

Her plans momentarily forgotten at the sight of the gloves, Katelynn gently reached out for them, slipping them on her fingers. “You managed to do the gloves,” she whispered, feeling how they warmed her hands a bit.

“These will..make it possible for me to touch without frosting anything?”

Even with them on, it felt like she wasn’t wearing them. They seemed to blend against her skin, dispersing warmth, working in some… strange, alien technology kind of way.

Jack smiled, took her hands, and pressed them to his face. He shut his eyes as he held her hands there, before pulling his face away. There were no ice burns to his face whatsoever. “See? I made them while you guys were out there.”
