Strange 24 Hours

Roxy was, of course, well behaved as she walked along with Jack, as if pointedly showing Stella how a dog should properly act when on a leash. She even sniffed at the air, shutting her chocolate brown eyes as she did, her curled black tail barely moving. Oh yes. She was important, and she knew it.

“I really don’t…” Jack admitted.

Seeing how the cold wasn’t making her feel sluggish and slow, Katelynn can correctly guess Jack’s species is warm blooded. She feels warm enough; even without moving around.

“Let’s pick a direction and go with it.” he finally settled on.

She had wanted to allow him to choose but the piers really were a good idea so she tried to going in that direction, smiling and quite comfortable in the skin she was in. It would probably be busy with people walking along the boardwalk and enjoying the sights themselves, a perfect place to start for Jack to get used to crowds.

“How are you feeling so far?” she asked gently, looking over at him with a curious expression, hoping to learn how this experience was for him.

“Feeling… p-pretty good.” Jack admitted with a small smile, as he took hold of her hand with his own as they began walking. “Still a little nervous I mean. Crowds. N-not so easy to just be okay with you know but… but this helps. This and you. You’ve always helped.” he says quietly as he shifts closer to her, bumping her gently.

She really had. He had barely stepped outside before he had first met her. Then he’d been going out, meeting her places, going out and about more… while large crowds still terrified him the people on the street were manageable. Barely.
