Jack stood in the bedroom, looking over himself. A suit he’s only worn once before looks odd on him. His neck’s exposed. But if you’re going to be heading out, looking for work, you had to look your best. He had sent his resume to a few agencies who said they’d find him temp work but he didn’t want temporary work. He, and Katelynn, needed full time work. He could still paint after work, on weekends, but a good, honest, hard working job is what he needed. With income. And insurance. And security for a future he wanted to build for not only himself but Katelynn also. No more would he see her looking so tired, knowing she may have skipped meals because of work. He wasn’t going to allow her to do that to herself any more.
Who knows, with a bigger income they could go to fancier places. Nice places to eat, maybe even see a few concerts. He’d give her everything she deserves and she’d be always happy. Of course there’d be tears at some parts, life is full of ups and downs, but he’d do his best to ensure she remained happy.
She’d been sad long enough.
“Right.” Jack said as he went to the door, opening it. “Today’s a new start.” he whispered to himself before locking the door behind him.
