“Ugh,” Katelynn moaned, walking into the apartment after the photo shoot, the make up still on her face. What a great day to be sick when she had been picked to be behind the camera, her nose running and her face red that they had tried all the make up possible to keep at bay.
She felt hot, coughing and sneezing at times and ruining some of the shots. Luckily the ones that had come out were in her purse as she had wanted some copies to show to Jack.
She was so tired though, barreling through a day at work that all she could do was collapse on the bed and try to go to sleep, not even taking off her coat or shoes.
“Mmm warm bed…”
Jack had stepped out for a moment to buy some more oil paints from the local art store. Roxy and Stella hadn’t been keen on going out so he’d left them to sleep on the beanbag. Coming home, though, he found Katelynn’s bag on the floor.
“Katelynn?” Jack called as he worked his jacket off and hung it on the door hook. “Are you back?” he asked, picking up her bag as he went and peered into the bedroom to find his fiancee face flat on the bed, still dressed. “K-Katelynn!”
He moved into the room and knelt down by the bed, near her head, resting his own on the mattress. “Are y-you all right…?”
