“That’s quite a temp you’ve got…” Jack said quietly, looking at the reading on the thermometer. “I.. um. Do you think you’re up to seeing a doctor?” he asked since, really, they would know how to treat her properly.
His idea of treating her is making sure she stays in bed, drinks her fluids, eats soup and dry toast, and gets all the bed rest she can but if she’s got something particularly wrong with her she may need medication.
Or medicine.
“Doctor’s again?” she rasped, hating how she sounded. “They were finally..happy to get rid of me..”
Now that she was eating better, they had sent her off with smiles and waves, hoping she didn’t need to go back to the hospital.
“I-I’m fine..” she said, coughing lightly into her sleeve. “Just need..chicken soup..and lots of love?” She smiled at him.
“If you don’t fee a-any better by tomorrow I’ll take you to see a doctor.” Jack said gently as he smoothed his hand against her forehead. “Now you w-wait here I’ll fetch you some tissues… maybe a b-box… and a bucket in case y-you need to be sick…”
He went and fetched these items, setting them by the bed. He then gave her another pillow to help support her head, and set some water by the bedside as well so if she was thirsty she could help herself. On top of that he included some pain medication for headaches and fevers.
“Do you want me to close the blinds?” he asked, moving to the window since if she had sore eyes he wouldn’t want to make them worse by having day light shine into her face.
