“…” Jack suddenly dropped down to his knees, reached out, and pulled Katelynn into his arms, shutting his eyes tightly as he did. “I m-missed you so much.” he mumbles. “I h-hate it when you v-vanish on me a-and I thought we weren’t g-going to do that a-anymore and n-now look at you oh Katelynn…” he shook his head. “I’m j-just glad you’re back e-even like this, you’re here. T-that’s you, I know i-it is…” he pulls back, keeping his arms loosely around her and smiled sadly at her. “W-what a life we lead.” he mumbles before looking up at Violet from his place on the floor.
“W-well trainers are su-supposed to look after the pokemon.. b-battle them against others, growing t-together in confidence and ab-abilities. Bu-but I don’t think Katelynn should b-be fighting anyone. Not really.” at least like this… he looked back down at Katelynn and rubbed the back of her ‘head’ gently.
She chirped happily at this rubbing despite the ache in her heart that still beat within her chest. I shouldn’t have done..it was stupid of me and I’m sorry..
Her guilt was almost palpable, moving around the room that surely Violet could feel it. She snuggled her oddly shaped head against his shoulder, the fragrance from her flowering flowing around Jack, a calming powder that came out during emotional times.
I don’t want to fight..I’m not..this is insane..just because I have powers now? No..I just want to go back to normal so I can be with him and my friends again.. and be able to talk for myself..
“Lilli..” she whispered against his shoulder, feeling safe in his arms.
Violet knelt down beside the unusual couple. She kept a little distance – this was a deep, personal moment between the two of them, and she didn’t want to interrupt too much – but stayed close enough that she could reach out and touch Katelynn if she had to, for translation purposes.
“I agree with both of you,” she said. “I’ve got no intention of making you fight, Katelynn. Honestly? I never liked that aspect of the games.” She made a face. “Fighting in defense is one thing, but battling just for the sake of battling? Not a good way of life.” She could have gone on a tangent about all the fun, non-violent adventures that should be possible with such amazing companions, but decided this wasn’t the time.
“It’s up to you what you wanna do.” This was addressed to both of them. “But we oughta find a way for her to communicate on her own first.”
“And t-try to work out how to turn her b-back into her normal self.” Jack added, smelling that soft fragrance coming from her. How strange it all was, this whole thing. He sighed, and licked his bottom lip for a moment. “W-well… back when she couldn’t talk in the h-hospital she wrote on a note book…? Can you h-hold a pencil, maybe?” he asked Katelynn while his brain began to try to work out a way to turn her back. Normally magical anons turn off after time but then again some had rules or specifications to be met…
