When he left her side she immediately grabbed the blanket at the bottom of their bed and wrapped him up in it when he returned, cuddling into his chest and happy to have his warmth back as she giggled. “I wouldn’t..see a problem with that..” she teased, running a finger teasingly across his chin.
“So I’m not taking it back and you c-can’t make me~” Only wish Jack did she feel confident enough to tease him in such a way and she had gotten better about what subjects to tease him on.
“Mm, duly noted.” Jack snuggled close against her under the blanket, playfully nuzzling into her touch like an affectionate cat.
He wanted to say “I’ll never leave you again”, but he knew he couldn’t make that promise just yet. Much as he wished he could stay here forever, the tour was still going on, and something might still come up that needed his attention. However, he was determined that if he did get called away again, he would do his best to bring Katelynn with him. She deserves the chance to see it.
But that was all just a possibility. What was certain was that right now, he was back where he belonged, with the woman he loved.
And that wasn’t going to change any time soon.
