[Sighs, though he’s also trying not to laugh a little bit.] You know, I think she actually does. [Or at least, she doesn’t seem too upset about it.] Okay, she can wear it. One question, though – why a lobster?

-She couldn’t tell him she had actually made Roxy wear it because Gail had tried hiding her attempt at giving Roxy a fancy buzzcut to her skin that would read ‘Ulric sucks’ but had ended up coming out looking like ‘VliK’ instead before she quit. She laughed nervously- “Um…for summer! Take her to the beach..pretends she’s a crab…fits!”

Jack raised an eyebrow at that. “Hey now, that’s not very nice.” He reached down to give Roxy a comforting head-rub. “Tell you what, let’s take the costume off now. Save it for the summer.” He started to reach for the velcro clasp.

“No dad!” she cried, moving to stop him as she placed her hands over his. “Uh..I mean..she likes it right? Let’s just..leave it on her.” She gave him a rather nervous smile, trying to get the clasp back on.

Jack, a soft touch as fathers went, often turned a blind eye to many of his daughter’s antics, but even he could tell when she was trying to hide something. “… Gail, what’s going on?” Very deliberately, he reached for the clasp again.
