Still in the process of trying to track down his psychotic fiancee, Jack’s been out of the apartment a lot more than usual, and he’s slow to get the messages. If he needed any more confirmation that something’s wrong with her, this does it – she’s usually good about calling in when she can’t go to work.
Well, it falls to him now. He’s still hoping desperately that he’ll be able to find her, and that she’ll be her old self again. And when she does, he wants her to have a life to come back to. He dials the numbers, first one and then the other.
“H-hi, this is Jack. I’m so sorry it’s taken so long to get back to you, but Katelynn’s very sick. We had to t-take her out of the city for emergency care. I w-wish i could tell you when she’ll be back, but we don’t know yet. Please, it’s not her fault; I s-swear I’ll let you know as soon as we find out more."
