If You Love Something…

She doubted he really wanted all the details, she thought with a wince and peeked her head out of the bathroom door since she was naked from the neck down. “All right but um..” she blushed, gnawing on her bottom lip. “….can you grab a bar of soap for me..? The one here is too small…”

Her heart was pounding, wondering why she was making an excuse for him to come. She was so torn between wishing to touch him and wondering if they were even ready. It felt like their first date all over again.

“Um, all right.” Jack was a little puzzled by the request. They kept new bars of soap under the sink – Katelynn knew that. But, given everything they’d just been through, he wasn’t going to brush her off with a “get it yourself”. He settled Roxy down on the couch (the dog gave a grunt of disapproval at being removed from her master’s lap), and headed into the bathroom.

“I think we still have -” He froze like a deer in the headlights.

Oh. Katelynn was naked. Naked Katelynn. Right in front of him. Jack tried to tell himself that it wasn’t important – he’d seen her like this countless times – but it had been so long …

Taking his surprise in a negative sense, she ducked away from his gaze even more so he wouldn’t see her flesh, reaching out for a towel to cover up. “S-Sorry..” she whispered, feeling ashamed now for feeling this way. Still their kiss earlier had sparked something in her she hadn’t felt in a while, love that swirled around desire for him.

Craving intimacy in order to be further connected to him – she missed it.

“I-I’ll just—”

Jack couldn’t keep from wincing as she ducked away and covered herself. Even though he knew he’d probably just surprised her, it still hurt to see her turn away from him, even now. He quickly spoke up, trying to reassure her.

“N-no, don’t be sorry! I just … I wasn’t expecting …” He felt like a horny, embarrassed young boy again as he tried not to stare at her. He fought the urge to lick his lips, and failed. “Soap. Right. The soap’s down here.” He scrambled under the sink for it.

She’s not ready for that. She only just came home, only just agreed to be with me again. It’s too soon.
