She leaned into his embrace, feeling a sense of pride for some reason at being held. That was strange. “Children? Just because you look like this doesn’t mean it could be all bad?” Lingering in his embrace for a moment longer, she gently pulled away and tried to smile yet her muscles wouldn’t budge.

Sigh.

Yet her hand was twitching to a great extent. She tried to pull it back from him and avoid smacking him again. “We should definitely stick together at least…If we stay stuck inside we may never turn back to normal..”

Jack sighed, resting his chin on the top of her head. He was so tall now that he had to bend down a little to do even that. “I know, I know. But I’m s-so scared of what might happen.”

His heightened senses picked up her hand twitching, and he realized what she was trying to do – or not to do. “Uh, K-Katelynn … if you really need to do that to someone, I don’t mind.” If he’d had real blood in his veins, he would have blushed as he said it.

“M-Must fight it though..or it might hurt eventually,” she strained, flexing her hand out. Why did the anon have to give her such a curse. “And I doubt it will go away with just doing it once, master—…”

Eyes blinking, a shot of shock zipped up her spine and made her rigid. Had she really just called him that? Were there magic anons related somehow?

“S-Sorry I didn’t mean to say that..it slipped out..” In her shock she hardly noticed her hand reach behind him, stroking his backside before smacking it once. “Oh geez!”

He ‘eeped!’ again, but it wasn’t a sound of pain, exactly. “I d-don’t think it will. I don’t think this creature feels pain the same way I normally do."

At the word "master”, Jack looked up sharply. “Wait, what was that?"
