He nodded, feeling the sting of happy tears in his eyes. Without really thinking about what he was doing, he leaned in and pressed his forehead against her belly, and hummed softly in the back of his throat.
Not wishing to interrupt them, Katelynn stood as still as possible and merely let father and child bond. It was much in the same way she wished to do with the baby once she was born – have skin to skin contact that her books told her was important for forming a bond.
Another bump shot out against her stomach to lightly tap against Jack’s forehead, causing another groan from the woman. “I think she’s trying to reach out for you, daddy.”
He chuckled a little at that, and got back to his feet. “She’ll just have to be patient, then.” He rubbed his wife’s stomach soothingly, knowing the aches and kicks weren’t easy on her.
