Gail’s field

At some point, during their trip, when they had gone for groceries, Katelynn had managed to find a tiny little stuffed teddy bear, buying it discreetly.

While Jack was busy, Katelynn had gone out to Gail’s field, finding the tiny stone with her inscription. Bending down into the snow, Katelynn kissed the teddy bear before setting it down by the stone, lifting her head up and looking off into the falling snow.

She sat there a moment, wind whipping her hair around gently, deep in thought.

But when it got too cold, Katelynn stood up and walked back inside, silently praying for Jack to heal.
