Her heart swelled and soared at his words, but she didn’t want to abuse his kindness either. “H-How about a romance this time? A true one so I can see why girls like them so much.”

a romance? s-sure…! why not let… let me find something good then…! you know where the bean bag and blankets are, right? *he makes his way over to the closet full of dvds to make a selection*

*he chuckled as he walked over to the bag with her and reached in, taking out the veggie tray* we’re a pair of rabbits, aren’t we? *jack smiles at her before wrapping an arm around her shoulder in a quick hug* th-thank you…! you really don’t have to bring everything each time you visit… y-you coming around is enough for me.

She should have been used to being cuddled by now but it still caused her to blush a bit, seeing how close his face was to hers. He lacked the glasses but it was still the same eyes, same skin tone. Her heart clenched a moment, wondering why she was even thinking of him or if the beating of her heart was caused because he reminded her of him. It didn’t seem fair to do that to him.

“I-I don’t mind! I like bringing food for you. Gives me an excuse to come around.”

mmhmm. he’s going to be there. so that should be interesting… minion, walking about an art gallery. hah. *he chuckled, before looking at the bag she set down* so what did you bring?

He had gone from purple to back to normal in practically no time at all that she began to wonder what he had been thinking of but shrugged it off and walked over to the bag. “Um..I’m starting to think I should have brought something better…but just some chips and a veggie tray..Hardly dinner…”

As a way to make up for it, she took out her cell phone. “But I could order pizza or Chinese if you want?”

“I guess it wouldn’t be,” she giggled, oblivious to any thoughts he had, thinking the blushing was just because of the suggestion. “I’m sure you wouldn’t want to picture some of the men in their underwear.”

She knew she definitely didn’t.

“But either way I’m sure you’ll do fine presenting. Will Minion be there?”

oh uh.. y-yes actually they. they want me to talk for a little while about… about influence and.. things like that. *he swallowed as he followed her; it was true. so many of his paintings were now gone, as were prints since he had taken a photo of that phone of her reading. it was a favorite, and they wanted it too so why not?* i told them i’m a little nervous and they’re pretty understanding…

they’d still like it if i talked though.

Turning her head to look at him, she tried to give him an encouraging smile. “Hey, don’t forget I’ll be there for you and you can even do that thing people supposedly do during speeches: picture everyone in their underwear.”

oh uh, j-just wanted to catch up and talk that’s all..! i’m still so excited over the art gallery accepting my work…! they came over here so fast, it was surprising. *he smiles as he takes his jacket and hat off, hanging them up also while Roxy, now free of her leash, scurries around sniffing at things*

It hadn’t really been that long since they had talked, having spent hours together on his birthday so she giggled at ‘catch up’ and walked over to look at his now emptier work space. “I’m really glad they accepted your work as well and now everyone can start to see what a wonderful person and painter you are.”

She leaned in closer to gaze at one painting in particular, eyes roaming over the strokes of the brush he had left behind. “Are you going to have to present a speech or give some sort of introduction at the grand opening?”

i wouldn’t like it either but, i think i’ll be good. *i’d be with you. that’s reason enough to go out into the spring time season to do anything. but oh look, they’re back home again! he unlocks the door and Roxy rushes inside first, and he waits for Katelynn to go in before following after her*

She hummed happily, enjoying the paint smell of his apartment as she began to shrug her jacket and scarf off and hanging them up. “So when you texted me this morning about coming over, what did you have in mind?”

With her free hand she reached up to lay it on his chest, glad for the close proximity to ward off the cold. “Yeah, we can,” she replied honestly. “As long as you’re sure you’ll be fine. I wouldn’t enjoy it if you were hurt just because I was selfish and had you hang out with me outside.”

bees seem to see me and think ‘oh hey a flower lets go land on him’. no matter what. *he laughs weakly, and shakes his head* that, and i’m allergic to their sting. found that out when i was ten. not nice.. *he’d swollen up like anything, and his parents had rushed him to a doctor*

“Oh no, that’s horrible…” she whispered, looking down at the ground. It meant spring would probably be spent much in the same way as winter. Or probably worse. She didn’t want to risk him getting stung.

She walked a bit silently beside him, lost in her thoughts of the coming spring, working out scenarios in her mind of ways he could still have fun with her. It meant no scenery photography for sure.

*he had the mental picture of them snuggling for warmth flash through his head. like on the bean bag. his arms around her, and her head resting on his shoulder like when she fell asleep on his birthday. that made his face turn a deeper shade of purple but he pushed it away, hopefully*

t-the only problem with spring for me is the bees. i don’t trust them at all.

“Really? But they don’t really bug you unless you bug them first. Plus they produce honey, one of the yummiest foods ever. Did you have a bad experience with them or something?”

Roxy had now calmed down a bit, no longer tugging as she sniffed the ground but Katelynn’s hand remained in his, forgotten. They must have looked like a couple walking together – hand in hand.
