Coming closer to the door and leaning against it for a moment to see if she could see through the rifts between the wood as the door was the same style as the saloon one, Katelynn whispered, “Time for the unveiling? Want me to come in there instead?”

For some reason just the thought of him in nearly nothing tossed a warm jolt of electricity in her stomach that spread about softly.

“I’m n-not sure you can fit in here,” Jack’s voice came through, “b-but we can give it a try.” The slatted door opened enough to let Katelynn inside.

The individual booths were better lit than the rest of the store, so that the customers could get a good view of how they looked. There was a floor-length mirror against one wall, and Jack, naked except for his socks and the green Speedo, was standing in front of it.

Katelynn had had a good eye for his size, it turned out. The suit fit well, even on his inhumanly skinny frame. It flattered his rear, and his, ahem, other downstairs assets. The jewel-green color went nicely with his eyes and the blue of his skin. The effect was only spoiled by how much he was blushing, and the way he was almost cowering from shyness.

She could practically feel the heat radiating off him and he could possibly feel the same as she took a long, appreciative gaze upon his form, not even wondering why the store made the fitting room so small. His sexy, lean form was a feast for the eyes and one she was only able to appreciate during special moments in their apartment.

Her own face flushed into a nice strawberry color as her hands clenched the material of her clothes, an outfit she had chosen to easily slip out of to make the shopping excursion easier.

“I..It’s like..it was made for you, ” she whispered against the tight space and moved slightly closer to wrap her arms loosely around his shoulders and lean in close to his lips. “You…look really sexy love..but the question is..do you think you would enjoy wearing it in front of our friends..?”

Still blushing, but feeling much better, Jack slid his arms around her waist, gazing into her soft brown eyes. “Th-th-thank you.” The question, though, made him hesitate. “I … I d-don’t know.” He swallowed nervously. “B-but I’d like to wear it for you. M-maybe if we went to the beach by ourselves, sometime?” He could tell how much she liked the suit, and he really did want to keep it, if it would make her happy.

Jumping a little in excitement at his agreement she immediately turned her head to the back of the store where they tended to be and sure enough she saw a lady come from around a corner and push back an old Western saloon style door. It even said “fitting rooms” right above the entrance. Leading him over to it and surprised there were no one guarding the fitting rooms, she walked in with him.

“I’ll just..wait right out, okay? B-But can I see..I mean..when you have it on?” she asked shyly as she played with some of her hair.

A purple blush rose in Jack’s cheeks. “O-of course. I’ll b-be right out.” With that, he took the Speedo into one of the booths. It was more cramped than he’d thought it would be, but at least there was a little shelf for his regular clothes. Struggling a little as always to get his turtleneck off, he began undressing …

Before long, Jack’s blue hand waved to Katelynn over the top edge of the door. “I’m r-ready. Could, um, c-c-could you come a bit closer?”

“We can always search for your size,” she amended, flipping through the rack and grabbing other colors and sizes just in case as it went over her head what he really meant. Having missed the point, in fact, she thought he was commenting on a completely different size, one that had her blushing.

Handing them over to him, she smiled brightly. “Let’s go try them on? Unless you see a different style you like? I-I was..sort of curious to see what you’d look like in this..” She shuffled her feet against the ground in embarrassment and was grateful the store clerks were off fixing shelves elsewhere.

Jack started to say something, but then stopped as he realized something. Hadn’t he been looking forward to watching Katelynn try on revealing swimwear? Why shouldn’t she want him to do the same? Even if he was nervous and embarrassed at the thought of it, he knew he’d be a hypocrite if he refused. Besides, it made him feel good to know Katelynn found him attractive enough to want to see him like this.

“A-all right.” He took the jewel-green Speedo. “Wh-where are the changing rooms?”

Breaking out of his embrace as she spotted an article of clothing that excited her, she took it off the rack and held it up in display for him, giggling lightly. “How..about this for you, love?” she offered, eyes wandering down to his waist to get a premature image of what he might look like in it.

Very sexy..and it matches his eyes.

Jack’s eyes shot wide at the sight of the little green Speedo. As men’s swimwear went, he’d seen much more revealing ones, but he’d still never thought of wearing such a garment himself. He swallowed nervously. “It … um, i-i-it’s very small, isn’t it?” Not that he would know unless he tried it on, of course.

It was wonderfully air conditioned as Katelynn walked down the polished the floors with Jack, holding one of his hands into both of her own and staying close to his sides as she peered about. She was also grateful for the lack of people though sometimes she noticed someone staring at them. She merely offered a smile in return.

“W-Well..” she began, looking for their first stop as pleasant music filtered in the air around them, “….o-oh! How about there?” She inclined her head in the direction of a dimly lit store that looked rather rustic with fake palms on the sides of the entrance. The sign read “Hollister” and many of the mannequins wore summer wear.

“T-They’ll even have something for you to wear.”

Jack relaxed a little once he saw her choice. He would have been nervous to go into a fancy clothing store, but this one looked nicer, more down-to-earth. I can handle this.

“P-perfect.” With his arm around Katelynn’s waist (for his own comfort, mostly), he led them both into Hollister. “S-so, bathing suits …” His green eyes scanned the aisles, trying to find something promising.

Thinking about for a moment as she stayed prone with her arms around him, she had thought Victoria Secret would be a good place to start but they didn’t have a men’s section of course. She wanted to see him try something on too in case he didn’t have swimming shorts.

She blushed as she imagined him trying on banana hammocks just for fun.

“I-I suppose the mall is a good place to start. I’ve only..gone once when I was with Mets to play at the arcade..I’d love to go again with you.” Though going meant crowds of people and she was unsure about his comfort level.

He hesitated, but only for a moment. His social anxiety, while not gone completely (and it probably never would be), had lessened a great deal thanks to the time he’d spent in New York. And clothing stores had private changing rooms, right? As long as he had Katelynn by his side, Jack thought he could handle it.

“Th-then let’s go,” he said with a smile. “W-we want the best selection to choose from, right?”

~

Some time later, the happy (though nervous) couple arrived at the Metro City Mall. Since it was a weekday, the place was fairly quiet, and Jack was grateful for that. “I h-hope you know where we should go?” Shopping malls weren’t something he had a lot of experience with.

“Love!” Katelynn exclaimed as she hugged him from behind, nuzzling into his shoulder blades. “Want to go shopping with me today for swimwear? F-Fourth of July is coming up soon and I think Bernard wants to gather everyone down at the shoreline for a celebration..”

It was a holiday she was looking forward to where she could relax and just be with friends – all of them swimming by the enormous beach shore or playing whatever and having a cook out, maybe even playing music.

It would be her first but hopefully not last.

Jack’s eyebrows shot up at the suggestion. She’d talked about going shopping for bathing suits, yes (and he’d been very fond of the image of his lovely fiancee trying on bikinis), but he hadn’t been sure if she was serious. “Th-that sounds great. I’d like that.” He gave her a slightly embarrassed smile, trying to keep his thoughts clean and pure. “Where should we go?”
