“Dadda mine,” she mumbled against him, grabbing the material of his shirt tightly. “Gail have all da juice. Momma have icky baby.” She was definitely stubborn when she wanted to be.
Jack gave a tired sigh. Clearly, he wasn’t going to get through to her right now. He snuggled his daughter a little longer, and then said, “Mm, I think it really is time to go home now.”
She sniffled against him but didn’t argue, just happy to be in his arms. “Gail love Dadda…” She whispered against him in a strained voice, rubbing her face against his shirt.
He hugged her tightly one last time, and gave her a kiss on her little peach forehead, tickling her a little with his mustache. “Daddy loves Gail too. Never forget that, okay?”
She giggled lightly since it tickled, content to be in his arms instead of seeing Ulric there. “Foreba and eba,” she commented with a content sigh, actually looking forward to going home now. In the safety of their home she knew she could properly play with her father and that was all that mattered to her.
