Harrison’s Visit

To think. He would stop by any time she wanted him to. He’d be a few doors away from her. Would they exchange keys? How often would he stop by? And how about herself, she would be always welcome in his apartment. Oh heavens. His heart was beating faster.

“It’ll be.. y-yeah. Amazing.” he smiled at her.

“And you can come anytime you want,” she replied, wishing to show him how much she trusted him. “Doesn’t matter the time of day..”

It wasn’t exactly moving in, which was probably too fast, but visiting was okay. Living together meant something deeper, something she wasn’t sure of. It meant showing him every quirk and habit of hers. Would that annoy him? She had so many questions about it..

The same worries went through his mind. The way he handled his clothes. How he left his shaver out on his bathroom sink. How cluttered his world was. Was she cluttered? Or was she neat? He expected neat. But he knew never to expect too much, it was rude.

He smiled, before reaching for his guitar, and picked it up.

“I guess that’s fair… and the same applies to you.”

“…” he went quiet with his arms around her, unsure of what to say. No. He didn’t want that man near her. He didn’t want DW doing the work that her boyfriend should. But he didn’t have a car. He couldn’t lift heavy things.

Again, another friendly reminder of how weak he was.

“He can help.” he said gently, pulling back to look at her. “I mean he’s. He’s your friend, right?”

She nodded slowly. “He wouldn’t take no for an answer. He was even willing to build an elevator in my current apartment building so I could get around. But I told him I wasn’t staying there because I wanted to move closer to you,” she said, smiling at him.

“I just hope my stuff is okay. He was hit by some magic anon dust or something and was forced to be a kid and had no place to go. So I let him stay at apartment until he was back to normal.”

“That’s… so nice of you…” Jack said carefully. He didn’t like the idea of a man staying in his girlfriends apartment, even if she wasn’t there. Even HE hadn’t spent the night there yet… but. No point in being jealous of what wasn’t there. “But I still want to help.”

His eyes widened.

“You did?” he asked, his expression turning to one of absolute joy. “That’s wonderful! Oh my God, Katelynn, yes! That, that’s wonderful! It’s easy access for you and, and I can come around and see you and help you when you move in and… oh my gosh. Yes!” Jack can’t help but wrap his arms around her gently, hugging her. “Congratulations…!”

She wanted to be happy with him but there was still the matter of…

“E-Except that Destruction Worker wants to help me move stuff…I don’t know if you want to help if he’s there..”

He sat there watching her, his own heart hammering within his chest. The very idea of doing… that… with Katelynn was enough to turn his skin from blue to purple in a split second. Now Jack was a polite young man, but he was also an honest, healthy, in love young man.

Jack would be lying to himself if he denied that he had thought of her like that. Of her hands touching him in ways nobody else had ever done. Her lips against his, her body pressing against his in those wonderful ways he thought he’d never know. How he had touched himself to these thoughts.

They had recently stopped, though. She was hurt, now. She was in casts. And was going to be in a wheelchair for over half a year. He doubted they could do anything like that. A part of him screamed in frustration at that. He had a girlfriend. A beautiful girlfriend who allowed him to kiss her, to hold her hands and hold her to him and their deep kisses the day before had only reminded him how new they were… but also how nothing would happen.

He swallowed dryly before reaching out, and touched her leg gently.

“I-it’s o-okay..! W-we don’t have t-to think a-a-about that s-sort of th-thing for a l-long time…! Y-you ha-have to g-get better, K-katelynn I.. I would never m-make you do something y-you’re not r-r-ready for..! I said w-we would g-g-go slow a-and I m-meant that…”

She was still shaking a bit, but glad for the reassurance, her hands cupped together near her chin, looking completely innocent. “T-Thank you Jack…I-I’m sorry to have made you..assume..I just..I-I’m not sure yet if I’m ready…and I’m really glad you understand…you’re s-so sweet to me.”

She hated that it scared her somewhat, because she was curious over what it’d be like with him, using a movie image as a guideline and replacing herself and Jack with the characters. Her face flamed at the image but she found she wasn’t completely scared by it.

She was actually slightly wishing it. His touches were always so gentle and loving and doing…that…would make it even more special with someone she loved.

Unlike when she was 15…

Jack reached for her, and covered her hands with his and drew them in close, and pressed his lips to her knuckles, shutting his eyes.

“Wh-when we’re ready… it.. it’ll happen… b-but only one you’re ready, a-and healthy, Katelynn… don’t th-think that’s what I’m after be-because I care more about y-you as a person than… than that… sort of thing…”

“Y. You. You wan… want me to see… see you in. In nothing…?” he asked shakily.

Now it was her turn to blush, looking a bit shocked. Her mind shut down, going in reverse and replaying what she had said. In her innocent mind she hadn’t really seen it but with his assumption she could, feeling really embarrassed.

Then her mind sped up like a locomotive, running through thoughts faster than light. See her in nothing? Did he want that? Did she? Didn’t that mean..? But she was scared of such an act. But this was Jack, he wouldn’t hurt her. Was she ready for something like that? Why were her hands shaking? Could they even do that with her having casts on her legs? Would he enjoy it? Oh god. Was it too fast? Could she do it?

Too many thoughts. She ended up putting her hands to her head to stop the tirade, trying her best to explain. “I-I..meant..your..work shirt…instead this..! S-Sorry! I mean maybe one day! T-The other thing..b-but I mean..with my casts I d-don’t know and…I-I’m scared and…! I mean w-with you it’d be s-special…but…I-I w-want to but…”

Shut up Katelynn!

“You.”

One word, one simple little word, and she felt like her stomach was flip flopping around, a blush creeping up along her neck, her form stiff against him. How did he have such power over her?

“Y-You can see me without it,” she murmured, innocently thinking about herself in his work shirt instead. “That might be better.”

Jack’s face turned purple, and he stared at her with wide eyes.

“I don’t see why not. It’d be nice to see you in something besides these hospital gowns.” he said, “No matter how nice they look.” he added with a teasing grin, rubbing her hands with his thumbs.

She was torn between being excited and wanting to jump into his arms and arguing over the hospital gown. Oh decisions, decisions.

She chose to combine them, pulling him forward for a hug, kissing his cheek in thanks. “Thank you, though I don’t know what you see in this gown,” she teased.

“You.”

He giggled. “Maybe next time I come I’ll bring you one of my shirts then?”

“Really?” she asked, excited, her eyes wide and bright. “I can wear one of your paint shirts?”
