Harrison’s Visit

Jack paused, looking at her in surprise. In his clothes? Why would she get into his clothes?

Then the scene in almost every movie cropped up. After spending the night with a man, the girl would normally throw on one of his shirts. He suddenly envisioned Katelynn walking around his apartment in one of his loose fitting painting shirts and it caused his face to turn purple. Her pale legs on display, her lovely long hair… oh god. And that kiss they shared the night before came crashing to the forefront of his mind.

If they kissed like that in private, in his apartment, if she was healthy… oh god. No don’t think that.

“You would look better in them than I-I do.” he said with a grin.

She laughed lightly, looking back up at him. “I don’t know about better. But they do look comfortable..”

When she found him in them, when she had managed to touch the material; it was so soft and looked so comfortable. If she could wear one of his shirts, be enveloped by his scent with his arms around her, that’d be heaven.

He giggled. “Maybe next time I come I’ll bring you one of my shirts then?”

He laughs, unable to help it, before reaching over and took her hands into his. “Oh but it’s so lovely on you.” Jack complimented.

She smiles shyly, ducking her head so he couldn’t read the expression on her face. “I-I bet I’d look good in your clothes as well..?”

She wasn’t sure what she fully meant by this statement, as their recent kiss entered her mind, causing a deeper flush on her cheeks and the weird feelings she had felt.

Jack blushed, but smiled, before leaning in and brushed her nose with his. “Good thing I like shapeless hospital gowns.” he teased back, before kissing her lips softly. “Or anything you wear.”

She blushed, looking down at her horrible outfit and braided hair. “Really? This old thing? It’s so December 25th, 2011 though,” she teased, giggling a bit, though feeling self conscious that she didn’t really look as pretty as she’d like.

He laughs, unable to help it, before reaching over and took her hands into his. “Oh but it’s so lovely on you.” Jack complimented.

Harrison’s Visit

That was surprisingly simple. Though a part of him worried if the man had approached her for sex. Wasn’t that why men talked to women in bars? Had they slept together? Oh God. You didn’t have to kiss to have sex. Jack’s stomach suddenly tightened at the idea of her with Harrison like that, and the reason behind her attraction to Jack was because he looked so much like him.

He kept the fears down, though.

“That’s… wow. That’s good…!” he said, hating how lame he sounded. “He said he’s a CEO too… that’s impressive. No wonder he dressed to sharply.”

She shrugged, not really so impressed by the state of his dress. She leaned forward towards him, smirking a bit. “I find myself liking loose fitting shirts and turtlenecks so much better.”

Jack blushed, but smiled, before leaning in and brushed her nose with his. “Good thing I like shapeless hospital gowns.” he teased back, before kissing her lips softly. “Or anything you wear.”

He smiles. “Aw, Katelynn…” he blushes as he kisses her temple before sitting down in the same seat Harrison had been sitting in. “How did you meet him?”

Her mind goes back to that time, back when she was lonely. “I had barely moved into Metro City and I didn’t know anyone. I decided to check out classy little bars to see if I could make some new friends, maybe network a bit but I was too shy and I wasn’t exactly dressed for a fancy place,” she replied, giggling a bit.

“Then there he was, like a knight, ordering some drink and starting up a conversation with me, shy little Katelynn. It amazed me, especially because he looked like Mr. Megamind who was my idol. We just sat and chatted and became friends.”

Jack watches him go, a conflicted expression on his face. It was as if Harrison was her father or something, telling him he approved of him. That was weird. But he was gone now, so he hurried back into the room.

“He seems. Um. Nice?” he asks as he approaches the bed.

She smiles as he enters, happy to see him. Her entire body is relaxed, her eyes alight with happiness. “He is nice…but you’re so much better than him.”

He smiles. “Aw, Katelynn…” he blushes as he kisses her temple before sitting down in the same seat Harrison had been sitting in. “How did you meet him?”

Jack was to his feet in seconds flat, staring at this man with an expression that could be either intimidation, or annoyance. He isn’t sure himself.

“O-of course I’m going t-to look after her. I love her.” he said back as firmly as he could. “I, I may not be a CEO or. Or smart or. Or anything like you b-but I’m going to take care of her.”

Harrison stood there a moment, before nodding his head.

“Good. You’re a good man. And you’re good for her too, which is most important.”

He gives a lazy salute to the artist before he walks off, putting his hands back into his pockets, and is gone.

“We’ll see.” he said with a smile before lifting his hand. “Take care, Katelynn. I’ll see you later.” with that Harrison walked out of the room but paused outside of the door and he saw Jack sitting there on the floor, twiddling his fingers together. He looks down at him, and clears his throat.

Once Jack is looking up at him, he talks.

“You look after her. You hear me? She’s a good woman, and I’m glad to see she’s found someone treat her the way she deserves. But. Just look after her. I know you will but I just wanted to say that.” he said quietly, but still firmly.

Interesting indeed.

Harrison walked into the room, hands in his pocket. He glances around and sees the flowers he ordered aren’t here. It hasn’t been that long, so surely they can’t be dead already. Was there a mix up?

“Harrison Drake, CEO of Megamind Incorporated. Hey, how are you?” he asked, reaching his hand out to the other man.

Jack stared at his hand for a moment. It would be rude to ignore it. He reaches out and takes it, and the man pumps his hand with enough force to cause him to become off balanced for a moment.

“I-I’m good. Jack Maple. M-my name’s Jack Maple I… I uh. Artist. Hello.” he said weakly, managing to pull his hand away from Harrison before looking down at Katelynn. “I, I’ll be outside okay?”

“Love you too,” she replies softly, giving him a smile, feeling a bit braver thanks to him. She still wished to get this over with as soon as possible.

And then the man in the business suit walks into the door way and stops when he sees another blue skinned man by the bed, by Katelynn. Besides Alex, Harrison hasn’t really gone out seeking others like himself. This is a bit startling since he appears to be his age but looks so very different. His body language tells him he isn’t confident, and his clothing informs him he’s either a starving artist type or going for the look.

But then he spots the art things on the floor by the bed, and a guitar case.

Art type.

“Not interrupting am I?” he asks, adjusting his glasses as he speaks.

Jack turned his head when he heard the voice and froze on instinct.

Katelynn hadn’t told him he was like him. Or that he looked like he just stepped out of a fashion magazine for rich men. Or off a private jet. Those glasses add class as well, and the finely trimmed beard compared to his own that was a little bit scruffy thanks to not shaving properly over the past few days.

He quickly bites at his bottom lip. “N-no. Who’re you?” he asked, before he could rightly stop himself.
