Meet the Parents

“Of course they will… I don’t see why they wouldn’t.” he said quietly as he continued running the brush through her long, lovely hair. “Actually, my father is a photographer. He goes around the country with my mother taking photos for people. A lot of his work is used in calendars and things like that… he enters contests, wins awards… m-my mother is an author. She writes novels but she also writes columns for gardening magazines.”

“A p-photographer?” she asked, shocked. “A professional one too! Oh wow!” She began bouncing in her bed a little, her legs the only thing not bouncing as they were set in casts. “He could give me pointers to improve and whatnot! And your mom’s an author?” She pressed a hand to her forehead, amazed at how much they had in common.

“One of my dreams is to make my own show or movie..Writing is a big part of that and your mom’s an author..WOW…this is..awesome!”

“Easy, easy…!” Jack laughed. Why hadn’t he mentioned what his parents did before? He should have known the fact his father photographed for a career would have made her happy. But he hadn’t known she was into writing. That was wonderful too. “Oh wait here…” Jack settled her brush down and fumbled with his wallet. He pulled out a picture, a photograph just under a year old, and brought it around for her to see. “Here they are… Aloysius and Bonnie Maple with some weird blue guy. I don’t know his name.”
