“Yes dear.” he replied with a smile before quickly turning and dug his hands against the door, leaned in, and pressed a kiss to her lips. “Now you go do what you’re doing. Okay? I’ll see you later.” he said before slipping into the lounge, the beaded doorway ‘door’ swishing after him when he left.

She stood there, blushing after him and put a hand to her lips. ‘Yes dear.’ He had said, almost as if they were married. She knew they were living together right now after the scare with Psycho and were going to move into a new apartment for space but it already felt like this was so right. And after he had asked her what he did days ago, she almost expected there to be a gold ring on her finger.

She banished the thought aside and moved to gather some clothes so she could go take a shower. She had her own work to do anyway. If Jack was working she didn’t want to just sit around relaxing.

He chuckled and touched her chin with his thumb. “I always will if you’re here.” he whispered before grasping her chin, and kissed her quickly. “I’ll try to keep the noise down.”

“Don’t worry about it,” she grinned, and gently guided him to the door. “But you should get to work then and not waste anymore time on me. I’ll even cook—-buy you something to eat later. Maybe I’ll order in some Chinese or something. But go on now..to work…”

“It’s work, so.” he said with a shrug before patting her shoulder. “I’m working on some commission work today so when I get to bed tonight I’m going to be pretty tired. Commission work always takes a lot out of me.” he explained since it was true. Whenever he painted, or worked, for somebody else despite himself he wouldn’t sleep well that night.

“Well when you get to bed tonight, just know my arms will be here waiting for you,” she replied softly, her body tilted slightly the way she always did during times when she was being cute without meaning to. “So hopefully then you can sleep well..”

He chuckled and touched her chin with his thumb. “I always will if you’re here.” he whispered before grasping her chin, and kissed her quickly. “I’ll try to keep the noise down.”

He nodded, kissing her cheek in return. “I know you will be.” he said gently, since he had to believe she’d be find. Just because he was going to be away for a while didn’t mean she was going to get herself into some kind of trouble. Jack smiled, and caressed her face gently. “I’ll see you later then, okay?”

She nodded gently, smiling at him to reassure him. Because she really would be fine. She was confined in the room for a while anyway considering she didn’t want to risk going outside and bumping into Hot Flash even with the holo watch on. Her body would still give off the cold and she felt slightly paranoid of giving herself away and being found by Psycho Delic instead.

It would definitely be her luck.

“Have fun with what you have to do okay?” she said, and it felt really weird that she was telling him this because he was only going into the other room..strange..

“It isn’t that big a deal,” he said, now feeling horrible for having said it. Oh dear. He was only three days into his powers and already his meeker self was beginning to push back, trying to resurface. He really had to finish the gun now. Jack got up out of his seat, and smoothed out his clothes as he walked around to her. “Look Katelynn, I have some work to do so are you okay here?”

She turned to look at him, smiling softly. “Of course love..I’m sorry for..well..always crying to you though..but I’m fine really..I’ll clean up the windowsill and maybe..” God she didn’t even really know what to do with herself really. She rubbed her arm self consciously as she thought about it. She was so used to going out and taking photo’s or hanging out with her friends that she wasn’t really sure what she wanted to do in the room. “…draw or read my books..” she finished lamely.

Or she could shower. She probably needed a proper one.

She walked over to Jack and gave him a gentle kiss on his cheek. “I’ll be fine.”

He nodded, kissing her cheek in return. “I know you will be.” he said gently, since he had to beleive she’d be find. Just because he was going to be away for a while didn’t mean she was going to get herself into some kind of trouble. Jack smiled, and caressed her face gently. “I’ll see you later then, okay?”

“I guess. It gets foot marks all over the window sill though.” Jack said, eyeing his window sill. He had no idea what she was thinking, or the fact that Six didn’t even have his own legs any more.

She laughed, trying to get up off the bed to go to the window, feeling her powers only slowly returning as her skin paled a shade lighter. “That’s fine..I can always clean it..”

She looked around for a rag, finding one of Jack’s old paint ones and shaking it out, walking over to the window. She didn’t feel as weak as she had yesterday, her rest definitely helping her.

“It isn’t that big a deal,” he said, now feeling horrible for having said it. Oh dear. He was only three days into his powers and already his meeker self was beginning to push back, trying to resurface. He really had to finish the gun now. Jack waved slightly, before looking at Katelynn. “Does he ever use a door?”

She turned to look at Jack, giggling as she did. “It doesn’t appear so. It adds to his charm though, don’t you think? Mr. Mysterious Man who goes out of windows.”

He had been a vigilante so he told her. The idea was kind of exciting in a strange way as long as it was safe. She imagined Jack doing that, looking all sexy and a huge blush plagued her face.

“I guess. It gets foot marks all over the window sill though.” Jack said, eyeing his window sill. He had no idea what she was thinking, or the fact that Six didn’t even have his own legs any more.

She nodded happily, a huge smile on her face. “Yes Six..thank you really..be safe on your way home okay? I’ll try harder to stay out of trouble this time..I promise..” And she brought up her firsts to show she was tough and luckily her muscles didn’t protest too much at the movement. “I’ll stay strong.”

“I know you will.” Six said, “I believe in you.” he lifted his hand and made his way to the window. “See you later. you too Jack.” he waved, before turning, and climbed out of the window and vanished.

Jack waved slightly, before looking at Katelynn. “Does he ever use a door?”

She smiled over at Jack, leaning in to kiss his cheek quickly. “That’s right and making new friends too!” she replied excitedly, happiness warming her chest at the thought. She couldn’t wait to hear how things went with Bernard this weekend, though she still had to ask Jack if he wanted to hang out with the man so soon.

Looking over at Six, her expression sombered up. “Miss Doppler isn’t a villain though Six..I refuse to believe that. She’s too kind..”

“Seeing all the damage she caused on the city over the past few days… all those floods, power outages, and property damage…” Six said as he glanced out the near by window. “She’s either overly emotional or a villain. Maybe she’s more of an anti-hero. Not really a bad guy, not really a good guy…”

Jack said nothing about Lady Doppler. How could he, he didn’t know her at all…

She blushed slightly, watching him twirl and couldn’t help the smile on her face which was mixed with the dried up tears on her face, probably making her appear quite haggard. She wiped her face to clean it. “Civil? Really? She wasn’t that way with me..She must really hate me…but I’m glad..so glad to hear she’ll finally leave us alone…”

Dropping her hand back into her lap, she bowed her head deeply in respect. “Thank you so much Six…I can’t thank you enough for this..”

”Like I said, I think. She’s got a lot of things happening and I think I helped her see what’s important. You just need to be more careful, Katelynn.” Six said gently. “You can’t be friends with everyone, just because you… get along with Destruction Worker and Lady Doppler doesn’t mean all of the baddies will warm to you. You’re very meek, and a lot of bad guys find that appealing and an easy target. But you told me in the hospital you were taking lessons in self defense? Right?” he asked. “If that’s still the case, then that’ll help you boost more confidence.” he smiled at her, setting his hands in his pocket.

“I’m going to be taking some soon too.” Jack spoke up. “Not for fighting, no but. Like you said. Confidence.”
