Their walk back was mostly in silence, dotted now and then with talks about the snow, about how the roads were and if it was still this thick back in Metro City. It wasn’t ten to twelve when the bus pulled up early, making it a good idea they’d left as early as they did. Just as before their bags were placed in the carriage area, and they found their seats towards the back.
This time Jack sat at the window seat, and Katelynn at the isle seat. He wrapped his arm around her gently, pulling her against him, and settled his other hand on top of hers. “So. Shall we do this again one day?” he asked as the bus pulled back onto the road.
She nodded against him, enjoying his closeness as she watched the scenery pass by through the window. Nature was passing her by and soon the only trees she’d see were those that dotted sidewalks or were in the Metro City parks.
“For sure..I really had a lot of fun Jack,” she said, looking up at him. “Every second of this trip is now a treasured memory to me. We should plan something spontaneous again sometime.”
She wondered if mentioning her intention to take him to New York City would ruin things. She was still trying to figure out prices and such so she failed to mention it.
“We should.” he agreed gently, stroking his thumb against her hand gently. “Though planning a spontaneous moment kind of defeats the purpose… b-but yes. I agree. Again, most definitely.” he smiles at her softly, before looking back out at the world passing them by.
