Jack made a face. “What? No! Oh, gosh. No.” he gave his head a shake. “He’s not my type at all. I prefer something,” Jack made a gesture to Katelynn’s height besides him. “A little more petite, feminine, with long hair, a lovely smile and a wonderfully shy nature with a body I can curl up with.”

He smiled, putting his hands onto his hips. “I have a girlfriend.”

“No foolin’?” Steve exclaimed, eyes bugging out. “I thought you said you weren’t looking. Least that’s what you told me last time we talked.”

Shy man had gotten himself a little woman? He wondered if he had buckled down, gotten over his shyness and finally asked a woman out. Where did he suddenly get his courage from?

“What’s her name?”

“To be honest I wasn’t, not really.” Jack said with a small shrug. “I had a bit of a crush on a girl, and I actually started talking to her. And her name’s Katelynn, Katelynn Foster. She’s…” he trailed off for a moment, lifting his hands, as if trying to explain her by way of hand gestures. “She’s just wonderful. She’s quiet, shy, incredibly pretty though she can’t see it. She makes me so happy, Steve.”

Jack grinned slightly, folding his arms over his chest. Megadork? That was almost cute. He shrugged his shoulders slightly. “Yes well… I didn’t like being mistaken for him as often as I want. Last I checked Megamind didn’t have pierced ears too but I guess people don’t pay that much attention.”

He then smiled softer, dropping his arms by his side. “I’ve been… well. A mix of amazing and not. You’ll never guess!”

He didn’t blame him for wanting to get his own identity. If it wasn’t for how he dressed and held himself, Steve would have mistake him for Megadork for sure.

But now he looked so excited Steve couldn’t help but laugh. “Okay I’ll guess then..” he said, rubbing his own chin. “You’ve decided you really do like men and you’re now with a lovely partner?” He faked a gasp. “Is it Metro Man?” Knowing the hulks’s preference for blue men.

“Oh wow,” he heard a voice exclaim behind him. “That was a big one!” when Steve turned around he saw a skinny, blue skinned man standing not a few feet from him. Jack, needing to go out to do some quick shopping for the apartment, held a hand above his face as he watched as the sky rumbled and growled as if a beast possessed.

Feeling he was being watched he turned his head a little, and smiled brightly when he saw who it was. “Steve?” he asked, “Oh, wow. Steve, it’s been ages!” he said brightly, approaching the man. “Jack, remember? I know, look,” he pointed to his pencil thin Vincent Price mustache on his upper lip. “This is new but it’s me.”

“Jack?” he asked, blinking in surprise at the shorter alien. He hadn’t seen him in a long time and was surprised to see him look different. He didn’t look as shy as when they had first met.

“Well this is a coincidence,” he continued, a slight smile on his face. “Hey that’s a good look for you. Now you don’t look like Megadork. How’ve you been?”

Metro Man had told him to stay put and out of trouble but it didn’t mean he couldn’t go out still. The police didn’t know his civilian form and he still was curious over what was going on in this city. He couldn’t just sit around and do nothing in his apartment, waiting for his house arrest to be over.

He needed the space.

“Stupid villains in this city,” he cursed, jumping about with the storm that kept brewing over his head which was slightly out of season for winter. Which only meant one thing.

Lady Doppler was pissed about something.

He looked up as a bit of lightning streaked across the sky, trying not to wince as he stood on the sidewalk, people walking by around him.
