Jack had pulled his underwear back on, after awkwardly removing his condom and honestly not knowing what to do with it. He tied a knot in it and set it aside, still unsure of the thing, before finding his jeans and his turtle neck. Once he was re-dressed her carefully pulled her into his arms again, and guided her back into the wheelchair.
He paused. He kissed her, softly, on the lips. The kiss felt different. Braver? Bolder? Yet at the same time it felt tender. Loving. They’d shared something amazingly intimate here, on the roof of the hospital and nothing would ever take that from them. “I’m going to ask if I can get a cot in your room.” he said quietly as he began to push her back to the elevator, snagging his used rubber and having to slide it into his pocket since no way was he leaving it here for people to find.
“I may not… may not be able to sleep with you in the same bed but I still want to be here when you wake up.” he says, as he calls the elevator with a press of a button. It answers; did it even leave? And he pushes her inside.
Her heart fluttered at his words, her face a blush as a smile spread across his face. “A-Are you sure..? I’m not pulling you from something..?”
She wanted him to stay, oh how she did, but she realized she was being selfish and clingy, hating herself for it.
“Sweetie,” oh my god, a pet name. He’d never used a pet name before. Wasn’t that what his father had called his mother at some point when they had visited the day before? “We just. We just made love. There’s no where else in the world I rather be than right besides you.” Jack says this as he touches her shoulder with his hand as they slowly ride the elevator back down to he floor.
