The other end of the phone is quiet for a moment and in the background she can hear a dog barking. “I’m glad, Katelynn.” Bonnie finally speaks, softly. “He’s a rare butterfly who can’t see how beautiful he is but when he’s with you, I see him being so much more than he’s been in the past. I’m grateful for that. You’ve brought out the best in him.”

“T-Thank you,” she replied, feeling slightly self conscious. “I’ve told him the very same in the past..how butterflies can’t see their beautiful wings. He definitely is a rare butterfly, one that I’m so lucky to have found to love. I intend to keep helping him too if he wants it. To not be afraid anymore and hold his hand through it all. Maybe..start a family if that’s what he wants.”

She looked up into the sky, watching the cloud break away to allow some sun to peak through, lighting up sections of the snow and making it glisten.

“I don’t know what his stance is on a family, but you’ll figure that out together.” Bonnie said, “As all couples do.”
