Jack slipped away from Sally, an awkward smile on his face. “Y-yeah Sally. Just some to last today and tomorrow.”
“Fine, fine.” Sally said with a grin as she led them to her stall. There were many fruits and vegetables on display. “What do you feel like?”
“I-I’d like a few apples please. I’m going to make a pie.” Jack said as he looked over the apples. “J-just enough.”
“Ohh, domesticated are we?” Sally smiled as she packed a few into a bag. She glanced at Katelynn. “You taught him?”
She was a bit startled at being addressed, shaking her head. “No..I can’t cook..” But she bet Sally could. Probably a whiz in the kitchen. Katelynn couldn’t understand where this dislike was coming from! She hardly hated anyone who was kind to her.
Except she was being overly friendly with her boyfriend.
Stop it, Katelynn! she scolded, watching them interact with a sad look on her face. Jack loves you.
“So are you going to teach her, Jack?” Sally asked as she passed him another bag, which e placed in theirs for carrying.
“I, I don’t know. I like baking.” he admits weakly.
“Oh I know that.” she replied with a smile before telling him the price. Jack opened is wallet and handed over the money to her, hands brushing as they passed the money. “So there you go…!”
