Taking a Trip

“Didn’t… didn’t you want to go take some photos?” he asked, hoping the idea of taking pictures would cheer her up. “W-we have so many opportunities…”

They really did but it was cold and Katelynn didn’t feel well suddenly. Her stomach hurt. Her heart hurt a bit. She didn’t want to worry Jack, hated to worry him, but she seen what she thought was a woman crawling all over her boyfriend, having not thought she would ever have to worry over something like that. Not because he wasn’t handsome or confident, or because he was blue, but just because of reasons she supposed. In her naive mind, a man who got a girlfriend suddenly become unattractive to the female population. It was the only explanation she could come up with.

“Maybe later..? I’m kind of hungry and cold,” she responded softly, looking straight ahead and biting down on her bottom lip. God she hated how pathetic she sounded. She had to keep reminding herself that Jack loved her. He said he wouldn’t leave her. Just because she couldn’t cook? Was shorter than him? Was probably going to have his baby? Got into trouble without meaning to?

What sort of relationship had she gotten him into?

“Oh, o.. okay we can go, we can. Of course…! H-here, here.” Jack unbound his scarf and wrapped it around her neck gently, before taking the bags from her. “Come on, walk close to me? I’m not much but I’ll keep you warm…” he offered, hoping she could make the walk back to their house.
